In the month of November, 2010, Mara Hruby released her debut EP entitled “From Her Eyes”. Exactly two years later, this November 30th is the mark of the first release she has exposed since her golden introduction to the world. Simply Beautiful is exactly what her new song represents, pun intended. Covering Al Greens “Simply Beautiful”, recorded in the Love Den, Ms. Hruby has engineered, arranged, and produced this soul evoking tune, playing only objects found in her home, accompanied by acoustic guitar played by Nate Mercereau & Steve Wyreman. Listen closely and you will hear her playing spoons, loose change, a metal buddha head with a safety pin, and scratching against a scarf. This raw release is a thank you to all that have supported me in my journey of “From Her Eyes” with love and light. Welcome to her heart, home and soul.
I’ve been playing this song and running around my kitchen (doing dance moves that only I will ever witness) non-stop ever since I heard it yesterday in that Safari Time video. I don’t know much about the band besides the fact that they’re Chilean (and right when I was talking about moving to Chile).
Just when I was telling a buddy the other day that I needed to start listening to some more BBC. First The Weeknd and now Kendrick. Kendrick took time out of his schedule to meet up with Gilles Peterson for an interview the other day. Now the interview isn’t set to premiere until December 1st but below is a clip of K-Dot going in on TNGHT’s track “Higher Ground“.
The Weeknd was in the UK last week for a secret show in West London, Abel continued his British frenzy with a live tv debut performance on Later… With Jools Holland and now here’s an acoustic session for Zane Lowe at BBC Radio 1.
