I’ve actually never been impressed with Smoke DZA. Joey and Soul on track together should be dope though! Check out Ab minus the shades. #VeryRare
I’m only three songs deep right now but these cuts are pretty dope for not making the 1999 tape.
1999 rejex is a compilation of tracks that didn’t make it to my debut mixtape 1999 (obviously). I decided to put this project together because I have a lot of unreleased material that I didn’t want to keep from the ears of my fans and supporters. I also have a couple of tracks on here I did when I was 15 years old (“little rachel”, “indubitable”, and “silent knight”) and I want to show people the progress I’ve made in a couple of years. The remaining songs (“flowers pt. I”, “catharsis”, “panty raid”, “fantum” and “update”) are tracks I dropped prior to the release of ’99 as promo only. I look at rejex as my more experimental side compared to ’99. Putting together these two projects even taught me a lil sumchin about my evolution as an artist and individual. Watch me go from “Joey B4 DA $$” to the “Joey BA DA $$”…… If you know what eye mean.. Haha – Joey
Yo, I need some old school Marlins gear! Shoot is dope!
If you haven’t downloaded 1999 yet you’re messing up.
I listened to this all day at the Pharm and man! This tape is straight consistent. You can def play this front to back and is well worth a dl. Hit up down bottom to do just that. “Since nine-five momma been workin’ nine five, and I know the landlord fed up with our lies, so we pray to the God’s, the Jah’s and the Allah’s, to keep us safe and watch our lives.”
It’s funny, the one dude without a smartphone in the booth killed it ten times more than the other dudes. It’s not that hard to memorize you’re lyrics people! If you really care about what you’re saying it’s relatively easy to do so. “Frequently be freakin’ MC’s, with these frequencies, these freakin’ tress, got me soarin’ over freakin’ seas.”
Three of the hottest young emcee’s out of NYC came together for the first time to collaborate on a track. Perrion from Harlem, Bryant Dope from Queens and Joey Bada$$ from Brooklyn. We captured a bit of the making of their song which is soon to be released.
This kid right here raps better than most grown men who rap. Illness.
This kid is 17 and it trips me out. So dope and such an old school vibe. Be on the look for 1999.
This is pretty dope.
Joey didn’t put this on his 1999 project so he blessed me with it for GoodTalk vol.10. “Catharsis” means “the cleansing” in Greek for all u slow mutherfuckers right . His first official Brooklyn show is the 27th at the Knitting Factory with his Pro Era crew. We are throwing it with the homies from Creative Control, Noisey & Vice come by & enjoy the Beast Coast. This is the first time I’ve heard of dude. Pretty dope. Off Joey’s 1999 project.
