I ain’t comin’ home til’ like 2030 (20:30). That line is ill.
Black Hippy is back! Whew. I heard people saying this track was trash.. Huh? What you listenin’ to? Fuego.
Ok, now this song is complete. Ah! Woo, woo, woo!
Kendrick puts the city of Compton on his back for his first set of visuals off his future classic album “To Pimp A Butterfly”. Rap game thrown just chillin’ in his driveway.
In this four part interview Kendrick sits down with MTV to reveal the original title for TPAB. TU Pimp A Caterpillar (obviously the title would have spelled out Tupac). Kendrick also mentions deadendhiphop who “called it” in regards to this. K. Dot also speaks on depression and numerous tracks off the album. Definitely worth the watch if you have 30+ minutes to gain knowledge.
New Kendrick is all you need to know to hit the play button. Need more convincing? Check the third verse below.
I’m the biggest hypocrite of 2015
When I finish this if you listenin’ I’m sure you will agree
This plot is bigger than me, it’s generational hatred
It’s genocism, it’s grimy, little justification
I’m African-American, I’m African
I’m black as the heart of a fuckin’ Aryan
I’m black as the name of Tyrone and Darius
Excuse my French but fuck you — no, fuck y’all
That’s as blunt as it gets, I know you hate me, don’t you?
You hate my people, I can tell because it’s threats when I see you
I can tell because your ways deceitful
Know I can tell because you’re in love with the Desert Eagle
Thinkin’ maliciously, he get a chain then you gone bleed him
It’s funny how Zulu and Xhosa might go to war
Two tribal armies that want to build and destroy
Remind me of these Compton Crip gangs that live next door
Beefin’ with Piru’s, only death settle the score
So don’t matter how much I say I like to preach with the Panthers
Or tell Georgia State “Marcus Garvey got all the answers”
Or try to celebrate February like it’s my B-Day
Or eat watermelon, chicken, and Kool-Aid on weekdays
Or jump high enough to get Michael Jordan endorsements
Or watch BET cause urban support is important
So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street?
When gang banging make me kill a n*gga blacker than me?
This is Sofa King dope. I Am is definitely my favorite Kendrick Lamar “interlude”. He definitely left out “My Plan B is to win your hearts before I win a Grammy” and “Do my Dougie, and grab my penis” but it’s for Reebok so I get it.
I’m still shaking my head after last nights Grammys. You’ve probably heard all the madness by now so I’ll sum it up quickly. Kendrick got robbed. Then Kendrick snapped during his performance. Then Macklemore apologized to Kendrick after the show via text. I guarantee Kendrick comes with some heat now after all this. We should all prepare for the wrath of Kendrick and I can’t wait to hear it! In the meantime we can all settle for this gem of a performance by Kendrick and Imagine Dragons. I think they may have been the only ones not lip-singing… So raw. So very, very raw.
Just got back from a weekend in Vegas. Sleep has finally been accomplished. Water has been drank. And we’re back. Apologies for the delay in posting Kendrick’s newest visuals.
Umm. Ok. That was pretty raw. This song is definitely going to be on repeat for the rest of tonight. People are still talking about that verse Kendrick did on Big Sean’s track “Control” but I think this verse is even better. And Pusha T went hard on his verse. Off of Pusha’s highly-anticipated My Name is My Name, in stores October 8th.
“Quantum physics could never show you the world I was in, When I was ten, Back when nine ounces had got you ten, And nine times out of ten, N*ggaz don’t pay attention, And when it’s tension in the air, Nines come with extensions”
